Hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) is a non-ionic, water-soluble polymer derived from cellulose, the natural structural component of plant cell walls. It is widely used in personal care and cosmetic formulations as a thickener, stabiliser, film-former, and rheology modifier. HEC produces clear, smooth gels and improves the texture, spreadability, and stability of both aqueous and emulsion-based products.
