Urea is a powerful humectant and keratolytic agent widely used in cosmetic and dermatological formulations. Naturally found in the skin’s Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF), urea helps to attract and retain moisture, improving skin hydration, elasticity and softness. At higher concentrations, it also works as a gentle exfoliant, breaking down hardened protein structures to help smooth rough, dry, or callused skin. Its versatility makes it suitable for skincare, body care, hand and foot care, and therapeutic formulations.

How To Use

Recommended usage levels:
Moisturisers & lotions: 2–10% for hydration and barrier support
Serums & creams: 2–5% for daily skin hydration
Hand & foot creams: 5–20% for dryness, roughness, or calluses
Scrubs: 10–40% for exfoliating effects
Haircare: 1–3% to improve scalp hydration and reduce flakiness
Formulation tip: Add to water phase during cool down (<40°C)
